Nathan Villar's appointment as ACG Sunderland Principal in 2007 led to the school's growth in both enrolment and subject specialisation. Under his leadership, ACG Sunderland has significantly matured academically, pastorally, and socially, earning recognition in the West Auckland community.
Nathan received his education on the North Shore, where he completed a double major in Science, majoring in Geology and Geography, at the University of Auckland. Following that, he pursued postgraduate studies in Teaching.
He has taught in various schools, both state and independent. Before assuming the role of College Principal at ACG Sunderland, Nathan served as the Deputy Headmaster of Westlake Boys, where he oversaw curriculum development and all aspects related to teaching and learning, including the implementation of Cambridge qualifications.
Nathan is an avid sports enthusiast and has achieved national titles in rowing. In recent years, he has also taken part in Ironman competitions and is passionate about cycling, introducing the sport to ACG Sunderland in 2008.
