ACG Sunderland Year 12 student Junheng (David) Li is the top IGCSE student in New Zealand, following the release of this year’s Cambridge results.

David received a perfect score of 100% to place Top in World in IGCSE Mathematics. He came Top in New Zealand in IGCSE Physics (98%), and placed first in the Best Across Five Cambridge award. His other results included 98% in IGCSE Chemistry, 96% in IGCSE Biology, 95% in Music and 94% in English First Language.

In total, he received 7 A*s (90% and above) and a B.

Hengyang Li (Leo), Year 12, was Top in World in IGCSE Design & Technology. This is the second Top in World result the school has received in this subject in recent years under teacher Cecilia Faumuina.

The ‘wonderful successes’, top off some outstanding results across the board, says Principal Nathan Villars.

These include:

  • 100% pass rate at A Level
  • 88% University Entrance rate
  • 80% pass rate at AS Level
  • 93% pass rate at IGCSE

“Here at Sunderland, we are so very proud of the successes of our senior students who sat high-stake Cambridge assessments late last year,” he said. “These results are a reflection of dedicated, hardworking staff, our extremely supportive families, and a highly motivated cohort of students. I am personally proud of them all!”
