In the recent Cambridge International Examinations, Year 12 and 13 students continued to excel, undeterred by the transitions between physical campus and online learning – and flourishing under the guidance and support of ACG Sunderland’s teaching team.
In consequence, the school is now celebrating a year of outstanding academic accomplishment.
AS-Level success (the initial stage of senior student study)
- 93% pass rate
- 34% of papers received A grades (80% or better)
A-Level success (final stage of senior student study)
- 100% pass rate
- 91% University Entrance rate
- 46% of papers received A* or A grades (80% or better)
These outcomes illustrate exceptional performances across all subject areas, with students achieving a perfect A-Level pass rate for the fourth consecutive year.
The number of A grades attained was also particularly pleasing, with an impressive 12% increase in 2019’s AS-Level results and a significant 5% improvement at A-Level.
“2020 was perhaps the most difficult year ever to be a student in New Zealand, with two Covid-19 lockdowns significantly impacting on the continuity of education across the country,” says ACG Sunderland Principal, Nathan Villars. “I wish to compliment the students and staff for not only being able to maintain their learning journey here at ACG Sunderland, but it is now clear they have actually been able to convert adversity into over-achievement, securing our best results in the school’s history.”
