Our campus features a 160-seat auditorium, specialist music and arts rooms, a band practice room plus individual practice suites, allowing us to incorporate creative and performing arts into our exceptional curriculum. Primary and Year 7 students have their own dedicated music room, as do Year 8 and above.

Daniel O'Connor

Daniel O’Connor

Daniel O’Connor is a Canadian music teacher and composer. He completed his Bachelor of Music, with distinction, at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. Although he lived and worked in England for many years, New Zealand is now very much Daniel’s adopted home. He has a wide range of musical tastes from classical to jazz, ancient to modern.

For the last 16 years he has been teaching at ACG Sunderland, growing the music department from its very beginning,and arranging and composing pieces for his classroom teaching and for the school’s orchestra, jazz band, school musicals and its many rock bands.
