Stand out anywhere in the world

At ACG Sunderland, college students have access to exceptional facilities and teaching staff, an international academic curriculum and a pastoral care programme that is underpinned by personalised attention. Our students are proud to be a part of the ACG Sunderland family.

The school consists of a Lower College (Years 7 to 10) and an Upper College (Years 11 to 13), with a seamless transition of learning between the two. The unique needs of each level are reflected in our teaching programmes – our Year 7 students are grouped together while the rest of the college features vertical classes, with a mix of year groups.

Our strong academic focus is supported by an outstanding extra-curricular programme and students are encouraged to strive for excellence in all aspects of their lives.

Students in the Upper College are encouraged to study subjects that best suit their interests, abilities and future aspirations. We provide all students with individual guidance on subject selection. Our teaching methods ensure individual attention from teachers while close monitoring of performance promotes academic achievement. All students are challenged to set goals for themselves.

Senior students are encouraged to take an active role in house and school leadership opportunities, while sports and cultural groups provide a sense of service to the school. Peer mentoring, coaching and managing sports teams, tutoring and house responsibilities all contribute to building confidence and independence in our senior students.
